Sometimes as workshop-givers, sometimes as activists, often alongside many interdisciplinary artistic accomplices.

The intention is clear. In all the forms we choose to express ourselves, we strive for connection and exchange between people. Coming together in a space and feeling the collective connection that is constantly present but forgotten with increasing frequency in our social system, the focus lies on what connects, not on what separates us human beings: the feeling of collective energy and the resulting synergies, not intellectual but emotional.

It is political, it wants to emancipate and extract itself from existing social narratives - ones that create separation, ones that distort the focus on us as an interconnected community and prioritise instead the long outdated capitalist systems that do not place emphasis on people but on infinite growth and material ecstasy.

It manifests itself as an offer to bring people into contact with other, new narratives that are meant to create hope and courage in these times instead of further cultivating the opposite.

EAT THE FROG is more than a collective of artists making music.

It is an organism in constant motion for new collective, artistic, creative ideas and elaborations, for equal exchange and communication, in search of like-minded accomplices.

It is an organism that already carries the future in the very present.

Short Bio

EAT THE FROG Kollektiv was founded in 2020 by artists Stefan Vidal Schneider and Tobias Link to create a platform for improvised music, interdisciplinary art and community in Münster, Germany.

Since then, they have worked extensively with the dance collective MNEME kollektiv and together created the dance theater piece NIEMANDSLAND (2023). They also collaborated on the video project UNCIVILISATION - The Dark Mountain Manifesto with Vincent Moon, Hayden Chisholm and Georg Niehusmann.

They were part of the collective that ran the independent art space TRAFOSTATION MUENSTER, where they curated the concert series WORK IN PROGRESS, organized bi-weekly community dinners, and held monthly workshops + performances with their ImproOrchestra EXTEMPORIZE, conducted with the sign language of the same name invented by Nana Pi Aabo Kim.

They help to organize the annual Impro Camp + Festival in Frederica, Denmark, and are collaborating with Kate Sagovsky on her artistic research PhD in Ecosomatics in Performance entitled "Rewinding Play".

EAT THE FROG were invited to perform and work with local musicians in Kurdistan/Iraq in 2021 and 2023 and organized the HELAN Kurdish Mixed Arts Festival in Muenster, Germany in 2022 and 2023 in cooperation with the Goethe Institute Iraq.

In January 2025 they went to Iceland to record their debut album with the band ARFI, a collaboration with Katrín Helga Ólafsdottír, featuring guests artists like Sóley, RAKEL &
